East Market Street in Chatsworth as Viewed from 3rd Avenue |

Quarles Building on East Market and Corner of 3rd Avenue |
More views of the storefronts on the north side of East Market Street. This view shows some improvements that have already been made. At one time, this building was painted a light gray. I think it housed Chatsworth Sporting Goods then (a business now on Duvall Road). Here, the sidewalk has been expanded to surround a parking space. Nice red brick covers the sidewalk, and there is a section of landscaping. There is a nice, ornamental lamp. Unfortunately, there are two utility poles, one very large and made of concrete. These cannot be removed, alas. Burying the lines would be too expensive. The brick has been cut to allow for the wooden pole. The brick is jagged there, and could stand some finishing touches to improve it.

The next building, not pictured here, is Lifetouch Chiropractic. It is pictured in the blog header. The building is clean and neat. It has two large picture windows and a rust-red awning. To the east of Lifetouch Chiropractic is Pat's Antiques (previously, Ausmus Antiques ~ same family), and then, First Impressions Printing, adjacent the alley. Portions of those buildings are visible below. These were taken to show features such as awnings and roofs.

The short building, above, is attached to the historic bank building, a much taller building. I think this is the shortest building on this side of the street. Below is better view of the First Impressions storefront, though I took this one from the other side of the street, so it is partially blocked by some pruned trees.

Historic Bank Building, East of the Other Buildings |
The bank building is the last building before the intersection of Second Avenue and East Market. This building faces Chatsworth Loan (a business on the south side of East Market). From the bank building, after crossing Second Avenue, the next building would be the Historic Wright Hotel (corner of East Market and Second Avenue). There are a few buildings further down on East Market, including the one that houses Barnyard Bees (215 E Market St, not pictured).
